CPO® certification courses are designed to provide individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations. The Certified Pool/Spa Operator® certification program has delivered more training than any other program in the pool and spa industry since 1972, resulting in more than 282,000 successful CPO® certifications in 64 countries. Most state and local health departments accept the CPO® certification program.
This training has helped protect millions of swimmers by reducing hazards at aquatic facilities. Formed from the 2019 merger of the National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF®) and the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP), the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance® (PHTA®) seeks to "Celebrate the Water." CPO® certification is one of the key ways PHTA® supports the expansion of swimming, water safety, and safe swimming environments. Through research and outreach, PHTA®'s CPO® program allows more pools to stay open so that more communities can be served. Danu Aquatics is honored to be a part of this internationally recognized program.
